Brown Undergrad

Ah-Young Song

Wins Stony Brook 15th Annual
Short Fiction Prize
and $1000 Award

SB English Department Press Release:

Stony Brook University is proud to announce that Ah-Young Song, a Brown University undergrad, will read her short story "Daunt" in the Poetry Center in the Humanities Building on Friday, November 3rd at Noon. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free.

Ms. Song's work won the 2006 Stony Brook Short Fiction Prize, which comes with an award of $1000.

The Prize was established in 1992 by an anonymous donor. Previous winners and runners-up have gone on to publish novels, short stories, write films, and fly fighter jets. The winning story is posted at the Stony Brook University website, (linked above) where one may also find entrance requirements, contest guidelines, and news from former winners.
