Last semester leaders of many East and Southeast Asian and
Asian American clubs formed ASC, the Asian Students Coalition. Its goals are
producing joint events and and bringing recognition to Asian interest clubs
and organizations.
To further those goals, and because so much gets bundled into April events
for Asian Heritage Month, this February they will be having Asian Week -
just after the Lunar New Year and featuring more than a week of events. It
will also include a road trip to ECAASU, the East Coast Asian American
Student Union, the largest college convention of Asian Americans on the East
Coast.
To get involved or find out more on what is happening contact Wanda Hun at
wanda.hun@ gmail.com
The events planned so far (and more are being worked on during intersession)
include:
TH - Feb 14 - CHINA BLUE: Radio Show on WUSB that also hosts cultural events

Does it say something that NONE of these events are in the
Wang Center - that place Charles Wang, President of the Chinese Association
at Queens College when he was a student - built for Asian American students
to meet each other - "a boy meets girl place"? So few student run
events are allowed there that the students did not even bother to see if
they could. Mr. Wang, what has happened here?
