ASA, the Asian Student Alliance, held their start of the
fall semester "Meet and Greet" on the 11th of September. The
event was the perfect opportunity for freshmen and new
transfer students to get to know the Asian and Asian
American students in the Stony Brook community while playing
fun filled wild games of “Duck, Duck, Goose”, “Musical
Chairs”, “Marry the Bride”, and “Hand Twisters”. Of course,
the pictures can be seen on the Zine's picture gallery which
can be found
here.
ASA promises more social events this fall such as the “Meet
and Greet” including its General Body Meetings, held every
month, and its annual Asian Night T-shirt design contest.
Most important of all, of course, is ASA’s biggest event of
the year, Asian Night. Asian Night is the event on
campus which is thrown every year during the fall semester.
The show is a representation of the diversity of the Asian
and Asian American community at Stony Brook with dancing,
singing, and cultural performances; a guaranteed fun time.
People from all over the greater tri-state area come to
Asian Night. If you would like to get involved, join the
Facebook group and comment on the wall with what you would
like to do. Someone will get back to as soon as possible, or
just come to the next ASA event. I’ll be there.
