On October 2nd PUSO held its open mic night in the SAC
auditorium. Karaoke is a popular pastime in the Philippines
and this event gave people of all skill levels the chance to
give it a try. PUSO used a setup called Magic Mike. In
addition to Magic Mike, some students did performances where
they sang, played the guitar or keyboard.
There were singers and performers of all skill levels and
the audience was very supportive of everyone willing to go
onstage. Some were meek but others went all out. Near the
end of the show CJ Cancino, vice president of PUSO, led the
audience in a sing-along.
The event got off to slow start but picked up as night went
on. The hungry audience finished off the free pizza and soda
like ravenous piranhas and everyone seemed to leave with a
smile on their face.
