Actually a week and a half but 1.5 has other connotations.

Last year reps from many of the Asian and Asian American groups got together for the purpose of jointly promoting awareness of their clubs. That led to the formation of ASC, the Asian Student Coalition, and the first Asian and Asian American Awareness Week near the Lunar New Year of 2008. This year they are again doing AA Week and during it will be having their members go to each others events for cross cultural awareness and providing a forum to discuss issues affecting the Asian American community.

From the serious - like the showing of Who Killed Vincent Chin? about a Chinese American murdered in a racist attack by unemployed Detroit autoworkers who called him a "Jap" - to the simply fun like Sodoku and Maj Jong tournaments - to the brand new Sparring Club with its night of martial arts lessons - beginning February 11th, AA Week will have something for everyone.
