There is absolutely no excuse to
destroy the beauty and
serenity of the Wang Center's gardens, or the pagoda that
because its uniqueness distinguishes us has become our icon!
Especially when there are better alternatives!
For FSA/SBU to construct the Toll Drive dorms insults
and shames Charles
Wang, the $60+ million donor,
and every Asian/Asian American! His
gift was to honor
his heritage and that of all people of Asian heritage.
SBU didn't think about them, ask them, even tell them.
The University would have just done it!
It's the same as saying,
"Oh well, you don't count in our eyes anyway!"
And if they succeed, all lovers of the Wang Center's
will lose too. Why? Because a
of bureaucrats didn't care?
And then the bureaucratic inertia didn't stop it?
We can't let that happen!
"The buck stops here."
Now it is up to the man at the
President Stanley, to correct
But if he does not know
the Asian and Asian American
cares, if he does not know that all those who
love the beauty and serenity of the Wang Center
garden care, he won't know how much of a problem it is.
So it is up to those who care to make sure he knows!
For construction on the Union to start in 2014 as
planned, its cafeteria must be replaced, so
construction on the Toll Drive facilities
would need to start soon - the foundation
must be in before the ground freezes this winter.
So now it's up to YOU to make him see the light
BEFORE a single tree is cut down!
And if any administrator says there is no other place on
Union side of campus for dorms, if any administrator says it's
to change the plans now - they are not being truthful!
